Financial Confidence is operated by Financial Confidence, an Indiana sole proprietorship (collectively, “Financial Confidence,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
Financial Confidence publishes lessons, courses, articles, calculators, quizzes, estimators, comparison tools, and other materials (collectively, the “Content”) for general educational and informational purposes only. Our goal is to explain common personal-finance concepts, including credit, credit cards, budgeting, borrowing, homebuying, taxes, insurance, and investing, in plain language.
The Content is general and impersonal. It is not tailored to your individual circumstances and is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who understands your complete situation.
Nothing on the site constitutes or should be understood as financial, investment, legal, tax, accounting, insurance, real estate, lending, credit-repair, or other professional advice. The Content does not take into account your financial condition, goals, needs, risk tolerance, tax status, time horizon, or other personal circumstances.
Before making an important decision, including opening or closing a credit account, applying for a loan, disputing credit information, buying or selling a home, purchasing insurance, investing money, or changing a tax filing, you should conduct your own research and, where appropriate, consult a qualified, licensed professional familiar with your situation.
Financial Confidence is not a lender, loan broker, mortgage broker, bank, credit union, consumer reporting agency, credit bureau, credit counseling agency, debt-management provider, or credit repair organization. We do not offer credit repair services for a fee, make lending or underwriting decisions, prepare or furnish consumer reports, or control any third party’s approval criteria, rates, terms, scoring methods, or decisions.
Financial Confidence is not a registered investment adviser or broker-dealer and is not a member of FINRA or SIPC. Nothing on the site is an offer, solicitation, or individualized recommendation to buy, sell, or hold a security, investment, or financial product.
Using the site, creating an account, completing a lesson, using a tool, or communicating with us does not create a financial-adviser, investment-adviser, attorney-client, accountant-client, fiduciary, brokerage, agency, or other professional relationship between you and Financial Confidence or any of its owners, employees, contributors, contractors, or affiliates.
Any response we provide to a question, comment, email, or other communication remains general educational information unless we expressly agree otherwise in a separate written agreement signed by an authorized representative of Financial Confidence.
Calculators, quizzes, estimators, comparison tools, and other interactive features provide estimates based on the information entered and the assumptions described. Outputs may be incomplete, rounded, delayed, or inaccurate. They are not quotes, offers, approvals, appraisals, credit decisions, tax calculations, legal determinations, or guarantees of price, eligibility, savings, or results.
Do not enter Social Security numbers, account credentials, full payment-card information, or other sensitive financial information into a tool unless the feature expressly requests that information through an authorized secure process. Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. Some tools, including the Debt Payoff Planner and the Credit Improvement Roadmap, save what you enter in your browser’s local storage so it is there when you return; this information stays on your device and is never sent to us. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Credit scores and creditworthiness may be evaluated using different scoring models, model versions, data sources, and criteria. Any score, range, or estimate discussed or displayed through the site may differ from the score or information used by a lender, insurer, landlord, employer, or other third party.
You should obtain and review your information directly from the relevant consumer reporting agencies and verify dispute procedures, deadlines, and requirements with current official sources.
Tools such as the Credit Improvement Roadmap help you organize information about your own credit accounts and prepare draft correspondence, such as dispute or goodwill letters, for your own use. Any letter or template the site generates is a draft only. You are solely responsible for reviewing, completing, and deciding whether to send it. Financial Confidence does not submit disputes or other correspondence to any credit bureau, creditor, furnisher, or collector on your behalf, does not act as your representative or agent in any dispute, does not determine whether information on your credit report is legally inaccurate or must be removed, and does not guarantee that any action, letter, or plan will change your credit score, resolve a dispute, or produce any particular outcome.
Investing involves risk, including possible loss of principal. Investments are not generally bank deposits and may not be insured by the FDIC or NCUA. References to asset classes, securities, strategies, allocations, historical performance, or market events are educational and do not constitute individualized recommendations or offers to transact. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
Examples, numbers, scenarios, and case studies are illustrative and hypothetical unless expressly identified otherwise. They explain concepts and do not predict your results. Interest rates, fees, credit criteria, loan terms, product availability, tax rules, assistance programs, investment returns, and market conditions change and vary by institution, location, and individual circumstances.
We do not guarantee that using the site or following any Content will improve your credit, save you money, qualify you for a product or program, produce an investment return, prevent a loss, or lead to any particular outcome. Any testimonials describe individual experiences and should not be interpreted as typical or guaranteed results.
We work to provide useful and accurate Content, but errors and omissions can occur, and information may become outdated. Unless expressly stated otherwise, the Content is intended for a general United States audience. Laws, taxes, lending requirements, housing programs, consumer rights, and product availability vary by state, locality, institution, and tax year, and the Content may not apply outside the United States.
Always confirm information important to your decision with a current official source, such as the relevant lender, financial institution, consumer reporting agency, product provider, government agency, court, or qualified professional.
Do not rely on the site to identify or satisfy a filing, payment, tax, credit-dispute, appeal, foreclosure, court, benefit, or other legal deadline. If a deadline or urgent financial or legal matter may apply, promptly contact the relevant institution, agency, court, or qualified professional.
The site may discuss or link to third-party products, companies, services, websites, rates, terms, or data. Unless we expressly state otherwise, a reference does not constitute an endorsement or recommendation. Third-party information may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate, and we may not independently verify every item.
We do not own or control third-party sites or services and are not responsible for their availability, content, security, accuracy, privacy practices, or terms. Your use of a third-party product, site, or service is governed by that third party’s terms and is at your own risk.
As of the date above, Financial Confidence does not receive affiliate commissions, referral fees, free products, sponsorship payments, or paid placements in exchange for mentioning a product or company. If this changes, we will clearly disclose any material financial, employment, ownership, personal, family, referral, or other relationship where it is relevant and close to the affected recommendation, endorsement, review, or mention. A disclosure on this page does not replace a disclosure required at the point of presentation.
You are responsible for evaluating the Content, conducting appropriate independent research, reviewing the complete terms of any product or service, and deciding whether to obtain professional advice before acting. Borrowing, using credit, investing, buying property, and other financial activities involve risk, including loss of money and damage to credit.
